Seeing Green

Posted by on

We admittedly have an obsession with nature & therefore the acquisition of house plants over here. A nursery is legitimately my candy store, but it wasn't until many plants come & gone that we really learned how to care for, nurture & see not only the extrinsic, but the intrinsic value of being surrounded by plants in the areas where you spend most of your time whether it be at home or the office.

The ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas Zamifolia, left) is a great starter plant, it loves practically all conditions, shade, sun, wet, dry, whatevas!

We've now come across countless articles how well plants purify & oxygenate their surrounding air which reduces allergens & illness. They're also typically known to boost healing when placed in hospital rooms, release moisture into the air & help sharpen your focus.

Not only do they seem to be important to our overall health & well being, they are nonetheless so beautiful. As someone who works from a home office by myself half of the time, I've become very in tune with the plants & it's really gratifying to see them grow, flourish & respond to their environments. I truly never feel alone when I'm surrounded by plants as they truly are living beings with their own form of 'personality' you could say.

Having plants in your space makes it a truly dynamic, productive, healthy & beautiful space to be. Like with many things there's going to be a learning curve, but if you don't give up on your first set of failed plants & are patient in paying attention to their needs, they truly become resilient, priceless additions to your life.

We by no means are green thumbs over here, just some plant loving trial & errorists! So if you ever need some tips on how to get or keep your Green On, just holler!
